I have always wanted to be a comic book artist, but sadly, that career path was not the one I chose for my life. However, I decided to take an old short story I had written and create and self-publish a one-shot comic book.
The story is about the afterlife and pays homage to the science fiction/fantasy comic books of the 1940s and 1950s. I even inked the artwork using the traditional CMYK dot screen formula guide in vintage comic books, and the comic is printed on non-coated newsprint paper. To add authenticity, I included a spoof of the Hostess Fruit Pie and Kung Fu mail-order manuals that would be advertised in comic books.
